As the power of the Endlords grows, the world begins to destabilize. The Great Want spills its bounds, threatening to destroy the City on the Edge of the Abyss. Ash March, fearing for her unborn baby, leaves the Heart of the Sull and is hunted by the Standing Dead. Mace Blackhail returns home and challenges his wife Raina to the chiefship. And in a small one-bedroom cottage to the south a powerful sorcerer makes contact with the Endlords, sliding the world toward the brink of destruction.
Needless to say, Chapter I is a big deal. The first new material from Sword of Shadows for over a decade. So it's the main headline down here. This section also serves as a recap on Raif, his state of mind and his intentions. The image is obviously derived from Book IV. If nothing else it serves as a useful reference point for his appearance, and a familiar reminder for those who've forgotten.

What turns up when dragons aren't enough? These guys are rather cool because they don't just push the boundaries, they knock them down altogether. Fantasy is imagination untethered and unleashed, so they deserve a little feature.
All was cold and white. Snow, almost as dry and light as the air itself was falling, though it occurred to Watcher a better word to describe the action of the snow would be floating. It moved through the air but did not fall.
